PHI HISTORY

In 2004 middle Tennessee was experiencing tremendous growth much like it is today and specifically Rutherford county was opening one new school a year. Brent’s wife, Ginger, was a teacher with Rutherford county at that time and she suggested he should look into doing something real estate related and specifically mentioned appraisals and home inspections. Around that same time a former co-worker of Brent’s contacted him about a home inspection company he was working for north of Nashville and offered him a job. The timing was too perfect to be ignored. Brent spent the next two years learning all he could about the industry and doing inspections all over middle Tennessee. Fast forward two years and legislation passed to require home inspectors to be licensed and insured. Brent and Ginger loved this legislation. It brought professionalism and continuity to the field. Brent and Ginger knew that the requirement of expensive insurances and testing would weed out the industry so they felt the time was right to start their own company, Premier Home Inspection, LLC back “home” in Rutherford county! As they say….the rest is history!

Brent Scott

Owner

Owner, Brent Scott, is a lifelong resident of middle Tennessee and a 1997 graduate of MTSU where he met his wife, Ginger and they married in 1999. Together the Scotts have 4 children. Brent began his home inspection career in 2004 and in 2006 started Premier Home Inspection. Brent enjoys time with the kids and anything outdoors, especially riding his bicycle along the trails of TN. When asked what the best part of
being an inspector is he replied; “serving people and being able to teach people about their homes.”

Tracy Brooks

Business Support Manager

Business Support Manager, Tracy Brooks grew up in Northeast Iowa but moved to middle Tennessee in 1994. She has two amazing children; Taylor and Isabelle. Tracy joined the PHI team in 2015 and has been keeping the office running smooth ever since.
When she is not juggling phone calls, emails, and scheduling appointments she enjoys reading and catching up on sleep. When asked what the best part of her job is, she stated; “I absolutely love my job. Nothing is ever the same daily. I love the relationships
with our clients and there is always something new to learn.”

Ella Scott

Director of Digital Development

Ella Scott is a native of middle Tennessee. Outside of work, Ella loves her church, family & friends, as well as traveling. She cherishes being part of a team that feels like family, where creativity is encouraged and values are upheld.

Reggie Patton

Home Inspector

Inspector Reggie Patton has lived in middle TN since the mid â€˜90s. He has one son, Alec, who attends The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Reggie is a master inspector and has been inspecting homes since 2004 and joined the PHI team in 2012. In addition to being a master inspector is also a master grill chef! You should taste BBQ! Reggie says the best part of being a home inspector is helping clients gain insight into the conditions of the homes they are purchasing.

Van Hall

Environmental Technician

Environmental technician, Van Hall grew up in Kentucky and Florida but moved to middle Tennessee in 2006. Van worked as a home inspector for Premier Home Inspection 2011-2015 before becoming an environmental technician for Premier Environmental services. When asked what the best part of his job is, he stated; â€œItâ€™s fulfilling to communicate specific information that gives our clients added levels of knowledge and confidence.

Shane Murray

Home Inspector

Inspector Shane Murray grew up in LA- lower Alabama and moved to middle Tennessee in 1998. He and his wife, Halee, have two amazing children, Eli and Emslee. Shane joined the PHI team in 2017. When he is not on a roof or in a crawlspace he enjoys woodworking, big trucks, boating, and leading a small group at his church. Shane loves getting to interact with new people everyday and help them in one of the biggest decisions they can make; in buying a home.

Emily Tidwell

Director of Digital Development

Emily Tidwell grew up throughout the Southeast due to her fatherâ€™s military career eventually settling in Bowling Green, KY. After graduating from Western Kentucky University, she moved to Murfreesboro, TN.

Emily married Caleb Tidwell in 2020, and they welcomed their daughter, Blythe, in 2023. With a background in marketing and business, Emily joined the company as Director of Digital Development in 2024, using her skills to implement the companyâ€™s social media, direct marketing and other digital initiatives.

Outside of work, Emily loves cooking, Bible study, and exploring the outdoors with her family. She cherishes being part of a team that feels like family, where creativity is encouraged and values are upheld. Emily often says that she has the enjoyable task of promoting a company she believes in and excels in its field.
